Yes, A fundamental consideration of all of the pending migration efforts
SHOULD be to end up as independent as possible from any and all manufacturer
specific products.  This does make the porting process somewhat harder
though.  Perpetuating MPE-izms into a new world will tend to tie you to the
tool(s) that support these MPE-izms.  One can de-MPEize code AFTER it is
ported though if you have a tool that supports your MPE-izms.  This might be
a thing for management to forget to budget for in the future though...
