If you have NBSPOOL, you can text in the stdlist while it's executing.

You can also use QEDIT or EDITOR, or just PRINT the spoolfile by
identifying
its file name...O####.OUT.HPSPOOL

Ok, I've kicked off the backup on my system. I see the job running. But
I have no idea if it's having problems, or if it's actually doing a
backup. I don't have physical access to the machine and the staff at the
Data Center don't really know much about the system. They couldn't tell
me if the tape machine was even running.

What can I look for to make sure things are working?
