I stand corrected (by Interex).  It looks like HP employees that are
speakers at the Solution Symposium will be able to attend the entire
event for free.  HP employees do need to register at
http://www.interex.org/conference/hp3000solutions/06solsym.html

There is no discount at SIG3000 (except for SIG leaders and the
CSY SIG liaisons) due to the very low price, most of which is to
cover the cost of the lunches.
