I know I was one of those who visited the web site.  I'm also one of
those that has asked for (and hoped for) a small iX box (single user or
two user or three user) on which to develop software, test software, demo
software, etc.

Years ago there was a fellow who was able to run MPE program files on a
PC.  It wasn't an HP 3000, and it lacked a lot of the HP 3000's
functionality, but it sure was neat.  Rumor had it that copyright
problems shut him down.

Yes, he would have copyright problems, because he emulated the
instruction set (albiet the old classic).  Therefore he would have needed
MPE.  However, the case is not so clear regarding a SOFTWARE
EMULATION.    If one doesn't use HP 3000 object code than it probably
can be done.   Some pretty important cases have been fought over this
issue and the winners have been the "look alikes".
