Hello Folks @ 3000-L & Returning from HP-World,

Re: HPWorld Questions

First of all: Thank You all for the web pictures. It is almost
like being in Philadelphia, but I am not filling out an expense
report today. It is nice to meet the virtual GIF/JPEG likeness
of a few of the frequent 3000-L participants.

The good news is my friends in the RC say only 1/2 a dozen of
your alternate/backup System Managers called last week requesting
they dial-in and find the MANAGER.SYS passwords //:~)

Speaking only about Internet & Interoperability things, the following
items were either released shortly before HPWorld or were announced
at HPWorld:

Question ? Did they mention/announce the FTP Enhancements ?

MPESIB: http://www.interex.org/advocacy/survey/2000mpesib.html

I believe CSY was quite surprised by this year's sib. they have/are
working quite hard on many new things like apache and (I think)
were expecting the sib to contain more 'internet-based' enhancement
requests. :-) - Donna Garverick

I was also surprised to see few (I only found 1) network enhancements
on the mpesib - #21:

----------------------------------------------------------------------
mpesm00g 410 Pass a priority to services launched by INETD via a
parameter rather than allowing simple inheritance from the priority of
the root INETD process.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Question ? Did I miss the others ? I am voting for this one to be
implemented also!

Thanks again for your sharing Philadelphia with those of us out here
holding down the fort!

Regards,
