Again I say, your statement only goes to prove that the left's vitriol
hatred for Bush
means more than doing the right thing in deposing a dangerous dictator and
making our country safer.

If I remember right, we did the pacifist thing with the terrorists (8 years
of clinton). He let them hit us (kobar tower, USS Cole, Tanzania, black
hawk down ...)and we did nothing but run away. "That way they will leave us
alone" right? Well guess what, that didn't work. We left them alone and
they still found it necessary to massacre 3000 of our civilians.

Now we have a real leader in the White House and we're doing things the
different way (right? maybe, only history will tell). However the Neville
Chamberlain route is definitely not the way to go, we know that for sure.

Also, Wirt, my guess is that you didn't look far enough ahead when you were
looking into your crystal ball. Sure things may be heating up a bit now
but, I believe this is the condition of things getting worse before they get
better. I think that if you looked a little further down the road we will
see a peaceful and free Iraq.

I'll also make a prediction that even if this does happen, Iraq is free and
peaceful and other terror sponsoring countries join in the fight against
terror. The left will still hate Bush and will still be wishing that our
country failed, that's who they are and how they think.

Tim

Tim,
Alas, we're degrading to YAHOO! Message board level, but, what the heck,
it's Friday.

Unless Mr. Bush and company have the intent of deposing about 50 dangerous
dictators (give or take) then it is hypocrisy to start and end with Saddam--
he was neither the worst nor our biggest problem at the time. OBL WAS our
biggest problem and we've dropped the ball on him. Iraq without Saddam IS
NOW OUR BIGGEST PROBLEM. To pull out now would leave a power vacuum that
would surely end in multiple civil wars in the Middle East. Worse, it's
exacerbated the AL Q problems.

Working in a hospital, I know that a doctor does not stop bleeding a
head wound by tying a tourniquet around the patient's neck. It
GENERALLY makes the problem the patient has worse--or adds a problem he did
not have before. That's what, in my humble opinion, the Bush
administration has done. It's made the problems the U.S. has with Middle
Eastern terrorists worse. We might as well be filming a recruiting
commercial for OBL and his ilk.

Before someone starts talking about bravery and cowardice---It is NOT
bravery to hit a large hornet's nest with a stick--it is stupidity.
Admittedly, you probably need to get rid of the hornets some way--but there
are Good methods and BAD methods. Last hornet nest I took out, I used a can
of stuff I bought at Home Depot that I could use from about 20 feet away---
The hornets never new I was there. It also killed the tree, BTW, but I
didn't get stung.
