I don't have an answer for you, but I recently (in the past month)
purchased a laptop and an Ethernet/28.K modem multifunction PCMCIA
card, and I couldn't get Reflections to work correctly over the
modem (ethernet worked fine using VT-MGR). I would be able to enter
modem commands and the modem would respond, but I'd never see any
output on the screen (echo was turned on in both reflections and the
modem), but the commands were acted on by the modem. For example,
I could dialout and get a connection, but I'd never see a single
character on the screen. This ONLY affected Reflections since the
Hyperterminal application that came with WIN95 worked fine. I finally
tried a newer version of Reflections (just today BTW), and it works
fine now. I was using Reflections 1 Version 4.20, and upgraded to
Reflections 1 Version 5.1.

I'd like to say what made the difference, but I can't :)
