Hi Graig
The env command did not show anything related to default locations of libraries
env | grep -i path
HPPATH=MONITOR,PUB,PUB.SYS,ARPA.SYS,cmd,cmd.sys,util.sys,hpbin.sys
PATH=/usr/local/bin:/bin
MAILPATH=/usr/mail/MANAGER.SYS
MANPATH=/usr/local/man:/usr/man:
I found the following curses related files.
shell/iX> find / -type f -print 2>/dev/null | grep -i curses
/usr/include/curses.h
/usr/include/sys/curses.h
/usr/lib/libcurses.a
/usr/lib/libcurses.sl
/usr/lib/curses/ae
/usr/lib/curses/ae.c
/usr/lib/curses/ae.man
/usr/lib/curses/ae.readme
/usr/lib/curses/product-readme
This is the same on MPE/iX 6.0 and 7.5
IMO the command: 'c89 myprog.c -o myprog -lcurses' should just produce a executable binary myprog

Could someone please
XEQ SH.HPBIN.SYS -L
at the posix prompt type
env
and paste your output here. I am looking at default paths (specifically for the Curses libraries).
Thanks,
