The two main databases for Linux that I have been experimenting
with are mySQL and PostGreSQL For mySQL check
out www.mysql.com and www.mysql.org and for PostGreSQL
follow the mirror sites at http://www.postgresql.org/.
There seems to be more books and information about mySQL, but
PostGreSQL has been ported to MPE, so you could do some
experiments on your MPE box, before trying to transition to
Linux. Recent releases of Caldera has included mySQL and PHP
which is a nice combination for webifying your data.
