First, Revs. Falwell & Robertson are exercising a basic right - Freedom of
Speech, one of those very freedoms for which America stands. They also
feel the call to obey 'God rather than man'.

Secondly, having said this, I do not see that singling out certain groups
and activities is the way to go - this finger-pointing serves only to
create division among us. On the Sunday after the terrorist attacks, our
Pastor urged the congregation to repent, first as individuals and also as a
nation. He stressed that while God may have permitted the forces of evil
to do this, they would certainly be brought to judgment for it. And that
each person ought to consider this and everything that happens, good or
bad, to be a wake-up call to us and to our country.

All of the 'God Bless America' sentiment is worthy, and appreciated by
Americans who have long felt we as a nation have attempted to ignore God;
but as Mrs. Beamer pointed out in her conversation with Larry King, her
hope and her husband's was in a risen Christ, and they would see one
another again.

My 2 cents - realizing many will disagree.
