I have always been able to use MPEX to push a data base from one system to
another:

     %COPY [log in to unmask],=.=;DEV=remote_node#

Recently, I tried to use this method to copy the root file only to a remote
system, but it failed with "duplicate permanent file" error. This occurred even
if I had first purged the root file on the remote system or included the ;YES
parameter on the COPY statement.

Any theories why this is failing? Both systems are 6.5.

I was able to work around this by using RoadRunner to perform a virtual tape
store, then DSCOPY of the VT file and a restore there.

Thanks.
