This can be fixed by checking the value against null before setting it in
the /etc/profile file.  Probably needs an enhancement request to get HP to
do it.
 
Of course, modifications to /etc/profile require special care during
updates since that file gets overwritten with the installation of the
shell.  This problem was noted in an SR somewhere, so I'm just trying to
inform.
