While cleaning up a small 3k system, I noticed an account called HPNCS which
appears to be
 part of something called the "Network Computing System" which I have never
heard of before
(I know there are a lot of things I have not heard of before). There is a
manual which I read (without
becoming much wiser except it mentions that this is part of an optional
product), and some utilities/
programs in the PUB group :

ACCOUNT= HPNCS  GROUP= PUB

On further investigation, this account seems to appear on all the 3ks I looked
at. Can anyone elighten me about this?
What is it used for, can I safely remove it and is it something that will
reappear at the next update if I do remove it now.

Any ideas ?

Cheers,
