Nothing definitive, but we were experiencing a similar problem with our
HP-UX system. Dialling in with Reflection we would experience no problem,
but if we dialled in with our e-mail application (Eudora), it got logged off
shortly after logging in.

We detected that the break signal was coming exactly 50 seconds after the
modem answer! We run uugetty on the multiplexed port (not a DTC), so this
shouldn't have caused any interrupt.

Anyway, the only reason I bring it up, is that we reconfigured our modem
from scratch (I think with special emphasis on the DSR/RTS parameters).
Problem has gone away. Might be worth a 'boo?

Regards.
