Absolutely!

How often do you find yourself in this situation:
  "Field w in record x in set y in database z changed; who changed it, and
when did they change it?"

If you're employing user logging effectively, this query is trivial to
answer. Or at least it would be, with a capable log-analysis tool. Most
sites don't seem to have such a tool, so they're up the creek.
