I'm looking for a list like this one for issues dealing with MS-Exchange.

In the mean time, maybe someone on HP3000-L has already dealt with this problem.

We use Exchange as our mail server (several servers across multiple locations), and Outlook as the client. For the users that travel, we have VPN access back to the office. The problem is that we are frequently finding hotels and other locations with broadband access, don't allow the required
ports through their firewalls, so we are unable to establish the VPN connections.

This leaves us with dial-up (very slow) or using the WebAccess method, which has its own set
of limitations, such as can't access the mail in your laptop client (PST files) and doesn't allow access to your personal addressbook (contacts), etc.

We are investigating converting these users to a POP3 connection to the Exchange server, which will not require the VPN connection, and I'd like to hear what experience others have had using this idea. The "issues" we have identified so far include:
- manual updates of the global address list will be required
- because user's mail now resides on their laptop, they are responsible for backing it up
- one layer of acces security is removed (the VPN connection)

Anyone dealt with this issue and willing to share experience?
