One of the features of the mouse described at the MS web site is that it
detects when you are holding it and comes to life at that time. When you
let it go, it goes to sleep. Pretty neat really. Thanks for the report.
Kind regards,

Hi Denys,
I love my Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer. It works fine even when the
receiver is buried under a pile of clutter on my desk. I've had good luck
with it where I sometimes had problems with the logitech mouse. The only
complaint so far is that it seems battery hungry, but they still last
several days.

I would simply bite the bullet and use the mouse as is. I would also like
to know how this mouse works out for you, as I am interested in getting one.
