I found the problem with the ODBC Listener problem...Thanks for all who replied.
The problem was DNS related. It turns out that last Friday, our DNS tables
went south and I was up to midnight recreating them.
All was well until I got complaints today from some people who could not
resolve the mail server for e-mail. Some could (like me) - some couldn't.
(Some of us have a HOSTS file - some do not)
That pointed to DNS. I apparently messed up when in the Forward file, I
used only node names for workstations (without the domain) and placed
periods after the name - which is a no-no, unless you use the domain name.
Therefore, nothing could be resolved. (What does one expect at midnight? <g>)
Since the 3000 uses a Windows NT server for DNS (and the secondaries
down the line were getting what we had for zone transfers, which were
also wrong), the 3000 could not resolve squat.
This has since been fixed and all is now working.
Again - thanks again for the help.
Best,
Joe Geiser
