not exactly sure what you're asking...but -- no

yes.  this is 'normal' when using private volumes.  for that matter
not all the groups of an account have to 'live' on the same
volume.  i highly recommend connecting to jazz and picking
up the new/purgeacct and new/purgegroup udc's.  if you're
working on a system with private volumes, they'll make your
life a (greater? :-) joy.  trust me :-)              - d
