Hi Tracy, The factory pre-load tape is a combination of an SLT (SYSGEN) tape and a STORE of FOS. It would also include any additional products licensed/purchased for that system. The HP-PA Support tape was used by the engineer to install firmware (HP9000 and HP3000 hardware was the same). Mark Ranft Pro3K -----Original Message----- From: HP-3000 Systems Discussion On Behalf Of Tracy Johnson Sent: Monday, June 7, 2021 8:09 PM To: [log in to unmask] Subject: [HP3000-L] [EXT]: Trivia Tape Question External Email After sorting through my old tape library, I found two oddball tapes. One says Factory Preload Tape HP3000XL SYSGEN/STORE format vuf: B.40.00 Date code 3217 The other says: HP-PA SUPPORt For the HP9000 S800 SUPPORT FMT P/N B3100-13435 REV A.B9.04 The first tape I'm thinking FOS for MPE/XL 4.0 before HP settled on their MPE/iX naming convention. Since I was never in a HP9000 shop, would the second tape be like an old DUS tape, usable on both platforms? -- Tracy Johnson BT NNNN This message is not from a UTC.EDU address.
