HPINSTAL is wonderful!

We cut tapes for all our systems on a normal work week, and do the upgrade
on the weekend. Cutting your own tapes means that you don't have the
problem of getting a defective tape from HP, or tapes with products
missing. It doesn't take long to learn how to use. If you have multiple
machines, five, ten, hundred or thousands of e3K's, you can create CSLT's
for those remote sites. When you cut the CSLT, you can cut the tape with
the current PowerPatch tape combined in. That in itself saves time by
eliminating reboots.

Adding a STAGEiX capability is a good idea.

I'd also like to have the ability to cut a subsystem add-on tape for remote
sites. Occasionally we have sites that buy software, and we have to wait
through the process of ordering getting the subsystem tape from HP, then
re-ordering the correct product when we actually see the tape. It seems
that HP likes to ship the subsystem tapes for the wrong version of the OS,
either we get 6.0 when we need 5.5 or we get a 5.5 when we need 6.0...
