Hi Lane

We use Zebra printers. We also connect them to Jetdirect and Lantronics (1 ser, 1 par port) lan boxes.

Some times we have encounted your problem.

One time we just set the baud rate to 1200 to fix our problem. I think this was through a mux or Xyplex.

The lan solution works really well especially if you have a parallel port on your Zerbra.

They also work well on the serial or parallel port on the Lantronics device.

Hope this helps.

Ray

We changed some labels to a larger font (so they could be read from further away), and we started having trouble with messed up labels, missed characters, etc. This problem looked to be a communication issue, but turned out to be a severe lack of memory in the printer itself. Upon ordering more memory for the printers - everything worked OK. I do not work with Zebra printers anymore (changed companies), so probably would not be of much help in diagnosing problems.
