If using bytestream, it seems the bytestream type is without the dash as 

previously indicated.



Although I'm on MPE/iX 6.5, they may have changed it to byte-stream 

(with a dash).



ftp> help type

TYPE [type-name]



Set the file transfer type to type-name.  If no type is specified,

the current type is displayed.  The only supported types are network

ASCII, BINARY and BYTESTREAM.  The default type is network ASCII.
