In work, NNTP port was block, but, in home I use MS OE with News group setup
You do not have to read and scan all the message, you can just click whatever
discussion thread, It is tree view, not like mail message.
Hope this help

Thank you for the work you have been doing and keep up the good work. I
personally enjoy this list and have no problem with your posts. If it is
something I am interested in then I click on the link and away I go to read
what interests me. If not, the DELETE button. I have not found this list to
be a problem. I have subscribed to newsgroups from microsoft for research
purposes and the ones I have looked at SQL, VB, and VC are flooded with
messages. Each time I checked there would be several 100 to download. Of
course this was a newsgroup and not a userlist but I had to wade through so
much just to get nothing for the question I asked.
Only one time did I ask a question on this list that went unanswered and to
give it justice, I did receive one response which was along the lines of the
question STUPID. Hey, you get what you ask for. Other than that I have seen
some really great stuff go by. Off the wall (called science) by Wirt and
some great photo's of space and antics in the jokes. But when I am gone for
a week and come home again and have 400 - 500 messages waiting, so a few
minutes and the DELETE key and they are all gone. The few minutes stated
before is the download time 56K modem and a bunch of short messages. The
deleting may take longer due to not being able to read fast enough.
Also key to my sanity is a rule set up in Outlook 98 to route all list
activity to another folder besides my input box. Thus I do not accidently
delete a personal message.
Make your computer work for you and not you for your computer.
This last bit was for the others who continue to whine and complain. I
remember not too long ago that the suggestion was to not post messages just
links to messages. And many seem to agree with this. So you do that and what
happens, whining and complaining. You can't win.
Keep up the good work anyways. Many more enjoy the fellowship then there are
those who only want to whine and complain.

James
