Hello Folks @ 3000-l,

Re: 6.0 Upgrade/Telnet Question

---------------------------------------------------Ron Horner writes--
I have finished upgrading my 969 to 6.0. Now, for some reason, the
969 drops off the network. It's only when I recycle Telnet, does the
network is reset. But it doesn't stay up for long. Keep in mind that
the actual system remains active during this time. When I try to
reset the network from the 969, I'm told that the network is already
up. Has anyone else had this problem. If so, what did you do to fix
it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

1. Use nettool to check to see if a inbound buffer pool problem:

:nettool.net.sys;info="res;di;quit"

<< look for :( uh happy >>

2. When you say you "recycle Telnet", does that mean that you
:abortjob the jinetd job and then :stream jinetd.net.sys ???

3. Install GR patches for Telnet, NS-Transport, FTP, Inetd:

PTDFDT3a
NSTFDT6a
FTPFDP3a
INTFDP8a

4. If the problem persists, at the next occurrence rather than recycle
the Telnet perform a CNTRL-B, TC, DUMP and get a memory dump of the
problem and contact the HP-RC.
