Hi Folks, We did some Exchange server maintenance this weekend. Defragged
the information store, and set up both NICs as link aggregate (previously we
were only using 1 NIC). All appears to be working well, except when I came
into work this morning, I found some email errors (outbound attempts from
jobs on the HP3000). Now, we're seeing one intermittent errors which I'm not
able to reproduce, and one error which I can produce at will. We're on MPE
6.5 pp2 and would appreciate any guidance. Thx!
1. Not yet reproducible (don't know what's causing this or how to reproduce):
% mail.cobnmp "-m listftr6.pub -t [log in to unmask]"
Jul 23 07:31:51 mail[288] SendSocket: IPCSEND: CRITICAL ERROR PREVIOU
SLY REPORTED; MUST SHUTDOWN SOCKET. (SOCKERR 34)
Program terminated in an error state. (CIERR 976)
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
^
2. Reproducible. Why does this work:
echo this is a test>t1
mail.cobnmp "-h zurg -to [log in to unmask] -m t1 -s 'email OK'"
But this fails. The command just waits and waits, until I break out of it:
echo this is a test>t
mail.cobnmp "-h zurg -to [log in to unmask] -m t -s 'email hang'"
The only difference is that the temp message file is 2 characters (success) vs
1 character (hang/fail) We've never (not to my knowledge) had this problem
before. When I look in Glance/iX, the wait state is CONS (what is that?)
