To:  All potential IPROF-97 attendees.

Attached find the *preliminary* IPROF-97 schedule.
.... Actually, most of it is probably pretty solid, but
there may still be some "tweaking" around the edges
to accommodate reality.

In fact, I'm posting this before Interex has had a chance
to bless the final revision, in case there are some
readers out there who decide they want to throw rocks
at it. Be advised that Interex is going to put the IPROF
call for registration in the mail ASAP, so if you're going
to take rock ..... er...  keyboard....  in hand;  do it soon;
certainly no later than this coming Sunday 1 December;
the earlier the better.

A couple quick points with respect to the attached sked:

(1) SIGUNIX will not be at IPROF this year; they are I
believe going to INTERWORKS instead.

(2) I did the best I could (with a couple helpful comments
by Leah Robertson) to give all SIG Leaders the time and
"do not conflict with" that they asked for... But since
most Leaders had an even longer list this year of other
SIGs that they did not want to go against, it was not
possible to avoid all conflicts... At least I didn't see any
way to do it.

(3) Tues evening 4 March was left open after 19:00, to
allow individual SIGs to schedule group dinners or etc.;
or, if any of the IPROF SIGs just gotta have a couple
more hours to discuss issues, I guess the Leader can
call it a working dinner.

(4) Since this will be the first general 3000-focused
user meeting after HP's expected announcement of the
5-year plan for the 3000, we allowed a little extra time
for the roundtables compared to previous years.

(5) The last session on Thurs ends at 15:45, to give
as least some people a chance to run for the planes
and still get home at a civilized hour.... Yes, I know:
That doesn't help the East Coasters much... Sorry..

..... O.K.... I've got my kevlar body suit and helmet
on... Standing by for comments.... BTW, don't expect
me to respond before Fri 29 Nov at the earliest....
Tomorrow I'll be eating home-cooked Turkey....

Happy Thanksgiving to all,

Ken Sletten
