I am attempting to print to a Xerox Docutech printer via IP address. I have set up the printer in NPCONFIG.PUB.SYS with an LDEV number, the IP address and the only option of pjl_supported as FALSE.

When I try to send a file to that printer I get the following console messages:

"Cannot communicate with network printer. Check network xport config, NPCONFIG.PUB.SYS, xport and links started status, intermediate network and printer status."

followed by 

"SNMP error SNMP-Response Timeout reported while retrieving printer status"

any hints where I should look to fix this problem.
