Gordon,

Do you have MPEX? If so, you can used the EDITCHG command. If not, you
could write a command file that does a listfile of the group into a
temporary file, and then reads (via input) the files one at a time, issuing
an edit command to change "abc" to "xyz", and looping until all the files
are done.

Thanx,

Subject: Batch file changes

I have a group of all our job files that have embedded passwords that
I now have to change. I'll have to make the same change again in about
6 weeks. Is there a simple way of changing all 250+ files other than
individually editing each one? We use Robelle's Qedit, and the files
are normal text files.

Thanks.
