Instead of entering 'READ 1/19', just hit f2 (Read Next) each time
you want to read the next message.  Depending on how you have your
In Tray sorted (see Profile under the Admin section), this will
start reading your new messages followed by any you have not deleted.  It
will also start over at the beginning, once you have reached the end
of your list.  This isn't a workaround or anything, it's the way
Desk has worked for years.
