I think you really need to ask some more questions.  I don't think they
are doing a real "INSTALL" from the ISL prompt, but an UPDATE using a
CSLT that they made with HPINSTAL.  After the UPDATE has restored the
kernel and a few other files, then you use HPINSTAL one last time to
finish the restoring of various subsystem files from the CSLT.

But this HPINSTAL process is NOT an INSTALL.  It is an update.

An INSTALL at the SLT prompt will WIPE out ALL data, including the sytem
directory on ALL MPEXL_SYSTEM_VOLUME_SET members.  You would then be
required to RESTORE @[log in to unmask]@;directory,  RESTORE @[log in to unmask], etc.... a
very slow and painful process and CERTAINLY not faster for HP or the
customer than the ISL UPDATE.
