Hi Curt,
unless you have UPS management configured, the boxes will shutdown with a
power failure when the UPS backup fails. The internal battery could be on
its way out, that said, I have a 928 and there was no internal battery in it
when I received it ! I didn't find this out till a power outage occurred
over a month end, where as my 978 was fully loaded with a large cell. Could
it be lack of battery ?
Happy hunting

Subject: Pwer Fail

Hello all,

I have a hardware question. Yesterday we lost power in our office for a
while. When the power came back on, our 987 came right back up (showed
power fail on the console screen), but our 928 went into coolstart mode.
Both of the HP3000's are using the same UPS.

Why would one do a power fail and the other go into a reboot? Is the 928
having internal battery problems?

TIA
