This again sounds like the ol' days back, when the HP e3000 was a
"closed"
system with the legacy systems and the engineers played in the dusty
corners
with their Suns, HP9000 Apollos and everybody was happy with what they
had.

Nowadays you must NETWORK, CO-OPERATE, INTEGRATE, and
even perhaps SYNERGATE (hmmm... have I invented a new slogan ?)
and that is essential for HP e3000, too. We have had the first two
longer,
and are just seeing the integration part to realize bringing the TRUE
synergistic
advantages of Information Technology.

At the moment you can run native Oracle on the HP e3000, but more
importantly, you can INTEGRATE your Image/SQL based and Oracle based
applications transparently, without the need to do time and money
consuming conversion projects. These are facilitated by having Oracle's

SQL*Net client and OCI modules on the HP e3000, and the Oracle
Transparent Gateway for Image/SQL.

So please, make HP realize that they NEED Oracle software on the
HP e3000.

Yours,

eLahdensivu.
