At the risk of incurring Gavin's wrath with a seventh message I am also
getting these spam messages. It is not only subscribers that are getting the
spam. I am not a subscriber and never have been at my current address.
Somehow someone has managed to get the addresses of the messages posted to
the list, i.e. it is not the subscriber list that is being hacked.
While the spam may be no less unwanted than some legal postings to the list
I do think it is more cause for concern. I don't know what can be done to
rectify the problem but I am certainly not going to let it stop me from
using the list. We owe a great deal of thanks to those that maintain the
list.

FWIW
The opinions expressed herein are my own and not necessarily those of my
employer.
