I'm curious if anyone else has experienced a problem with the UNPACKP command
file provided by HP's ESC. I was able to download several patches from ESC
and get them up on the 3000s without a problem. ESC also provides the UNPACKP
command file and a set of instructions for uploading it to the 3000 and
converting it to a byte-array file (WHY??). That's where the whole process
fell apart. UNPACKP gave me a message to the effect of BAD SPECIAL CHARACTERS
IN PARM HEADER. What special characters?

I wound up exercising the ultimate solution: call HPRC and get the patches on
DAT (definitely low-tech solution, but it works!).
