I in the middle of polling my customer base to see what their plans are in
light of 11/14. I've talked to 10 of them so far, a very small and
unrepresentative sample of the entire HP3000 customer base. Still, half of
the them are staying put with MPE until at least 2006. One signed a 10-year
support contract with a third-party support organization.

The other half either have started or will start looking their options, one
of which is to stay on MPE. None of these are to committed to staying with
HP, HP is just one of the hardware vendors they are looking at. A couple
are at least looking at the AS/400.

Winston could very well be right that 85% of the HP3000 customers will
move. However, that does not jibe with what I am seeing from my own
customers, or talking to other software vendors, or the sense that I get
here on 3000-L.
