Rick,

According to this circa 1991 manual I have here, the procedure to access the Diagnostics program is as follows:

1. conect a local terminal to port 0, slot 0

2. turn on the terminal and set the configuration as follows:
    9600 baud, 8/N/1
     handshake disabled
     full duplex
     block mode off
     automatic line feed disabled
     remote feed

3. Press CTRL-P, and the Diagnostics program should appear.

Mind you, this is what the book says; I've been having a devil of a time trying to set up a new DTC, and my attempt to run the diagnostics as outlined above was unsuccessful, so I don't know if perhaps the manual is obsolete, or the settings are slightly different for a 700/92 or what.

Hope these few clues help some; let me know if you're successful in getting it to work.

documentation and someone decided to turn off the cd tower with the hp
