In the article a recent article Mr. Capellas speaks about the HP plan for
the future. Among the many points of interest I found this one most
interesting/disturbing/revealing, "You are going to see Windows and Linux
absolutely eviscerate the midrange proprietary Unix," he said. Is it going
to come to this?
I had believed that Linux was flavor of the month stuff but if HP corporate
policy is headed in that direction then maybe Linux is here to stay. Coupled
with Sun's recent acceptance of Linux as an O/S and IBM's great interest in
Linux this statement takes on a lot of weight. Time will tell.
