Hardly "devious".  What they are doing by targeting HPworld attendees is
very practical, direct, efficient, cost-effective, rational and exactly the
sort of evangelism (outside the proverbial choir) that HP never seems able
or willing to implement when it comes to our favorite database
engine.  That's exactly the kind of thing that would be a real mark in the
sand if HP wants to sell MPE and not just milk the cash cow as long as they
can.

I'm moderately near to madly mangling my mixed metaphors of meaning, so
I'll meander off and leave it to mull.  :)
