But of course...for nearly a decade, the SHOT tool has had that capability.
SHOT's now distributed by Lund Performance Solutions, www.lund.com, as
part of their System Manager's Toolbox.

In the following example, I'm going to kill PIN 64 (which is a copy of EDITOR)

   :shot
   ...
   MPE/iX 6.0; System started @ 16:12 on 1999-11-12
Highest PIN in use = 110, max pin possible = 8190, highest ever used = 192

? PIN CPU Process Name Pri Q Delta % Ic Wait State
   - --- ------ -------------------------- --- - ----- --- -- ----------------------------
    5 14637 port_facility_process 152 C 1 nn pfp_port1
   51 169669 SMBD.SAMBA.SYS 238 D 11 nn MESSAGE_WAIT
   64 2562 EDITOR.PUB.SYS 200 C 2470 32 Cc READY (quantum
expired)
  102 603 SHOT.PUB.LPSTOOLS 153 C 36 Nn (executing)
...
SHOT [Delta]: kill 64

Are you sure you want to kill PIN 64? (Default=N) -->y<--
kill request sent.

(note: above looks better with fixed font display)

</plug>

Also, HP is eventually coming out with an ABORTPROC utility to
do the same thing. I don't know when this will be available.
