That is what I thought too.  But the HP3000 address is manually
assigned and is outside the ranges assigned to DHCP services.  I
doubled checked both DHCP servers and all leases were for unique
devices and none had an address outside the ranges allotted.

I did replace a suspect cat5 100BaseT cable connected to one of the
HP3000's network printers however.

As just reported.  The problem seems to have gone away for now.
