So, what is wrong with this picture?

The two board members, whose privacy was allegedly violated, resign, and
the instigator of the investigation, just has to move her chair from the
head of the board table to the side.

The "leakers" are gone and the "overzealous investigator" continues to
govern HP.

Bruce.

Hello Friends:

Can you tell us how HP's privacy blunder affects your relationship
with the company?

We've posted a new article on our NewsWire NewsBlog
<http://3000newswire.com/blog> about today's developments. Much more
interesting than HP's main press release on the matter is the
company's report on director Keyworth's resignation.

HP was careful to express its regret for violating the privacy of its
directors, now both resigned: Keyworth and Tom Perkins. No such
regrets have yet been delivered for hounding the personal phone
records of close to a dozen reporters and their family members.

We should all keep in mind there are two HPs: the one that allowed
this blunder to happen, without adequate oversight; and the one that
still serves the 3000 community at the "worker bee" level. I already
have Alfredo Rego's well-crafted reply in hand, responding to our
spot poll on the impact of this investigative hoax.

I invite you all to answer the same question that Alfredo did,
whether you're continuing with HP as your enterprise vendor, or
staying on the 3000 but separating from HP.

For the record, the legality of these tactics is still in play. If
criminal or civil claims arise from this hoax, we can all hope that
"pretexting" becomes as illegal as ethics make it appear.
