If it is true that HP will not be using HP-UX, then it can be expected that
sales there would slump as well.
(If they won't use it, why should anyone else?)
This, coupled with the assassination of MPE, makes it appear that Carly's
plan was too merge HP with Compaq and just be a giant make of PC's.
Once they are done gutting the OS business, if they don't merge with Compaq,
then what will be left?
One suggestion made to me was that perhaps they could sell t-shirts.
