David's remarks are very perceptive. So far, HP seems to have
concentrated on mentioning MPE companies that are happily migrating
to HP-UX :-)
I was fascinated by your mention of Himalaya, because I had the
great privilege of riding in Jim Treybig's Ferrari back in 1978,
when he was the big man in Tandem (just a couple of blocks away
from HP's Cupertino site). Jim had worked for HP just before.
Eventually, Compaq acquired Tandem. Eventually, HP acquired
Compaq. What's next? Small world, indeed.
Welcome to HP and welcome to hp3000-L, David. There is a lot of
catching up to be done.
