Well, depending on your model of HP3000, you might be able to switch the 
HP3000 to use 10BaseT instead of 10Base2 (actually, you switch the HP 
to use the AUI port and then put a 10BaseT transceiver on it).

Or, you can contact Black Box or a similar vendor and buy a 10BaseT to 
10Base2 media converter.

I've done both of these and they work well.
