I understand your point; I just don't agree with it. Throughout history, true "holy men", motivated by their faith, have uniformly led by example--even when that leadership meant they ran the risks of persecution, prosecution, imprisonment, or death. bin Laden displays none of those characteristics; he sits back in (relative) ease and comfort while his dupes die agonizing deaths in support of his "jihad". That isn't a religious leader.
