Ah, thank you, this finally gives me a clue. Since my client's
"pre-existing" UPS is not HP, then of course this spurious software does
not have any bearing, and neither does configuring the UPS in NMMGR
(which I didn't know you can do that until just now), since it would
only apply to corresponding HP firmware in an HP UPS!
