Too bad. Apparently modesty is another of his wonderful qualities.
Among my cousins the Arabs, men or often known as Abu xxx meaning "the
father of xxx" usually the firstborn son's name. This is an act of pride.
They are saying this is my biggest accomplishment. Since the biggest
accomplishment I have as an IT professional is having written a couple
hundred run of the mill Cobol programs, I choose not call myself Abu
Mediocre Cobol Programs. If on the other hand I was the father of Image my
attitude might be slightly different.
Pride is not the same as immodesty. Humility requires that you know what you
are capable of doing and realizing that doing less makes you unworthy. Some
people have proven themselves worthy and the rest of us are hopefully still
striving.
Let Peace be the maxim by which we act because we will Peace to become a
universal law.
The opinions expressed herein, whether mildly held opinions or hardcore
opinions are my own and not necessarily those of my employer.
