I am trying to get two systems to the same MPE/iX level. One had previously
been updated to MPE/iX 5.5 Express 3. The other was still on 5.0.

I used AUTOINST to update the 5.0 box and everything went great. When I ran
PATCHIX on the second box, many of the patches that were installed during the
AUTOINST were 'DISQUALIFIED' on the second. Some of the disqualified patches
were Y2K-related, most notability the VPLUS enhancement patch. (Please don't
ask me to look it up before 6am.)

What I ended up doing was going through the HPSWINFO on the box I had
AUTOINSTed and forcing the patches that had been installed there, on the
PATCHIX box. Please note that forcing the patches required overriding a
warning saying that these patches should be installed only with permission
from HP. Everything installed correctly and the box appears to be OK.

Why is there a discrepancy between the patches select depending on which
procedure is followed? Is this intentional? Is there a better way?
