A few days ago, I noticed that www.samba.org now offers a
new version 2.0.9 with some security advice. I have no idea
if the related security issue would also apply to MPE, but
I was curious whether the new version would build on MPE/iX
with no or minor modifications.
Using the Samba 2.0.7 source code diffs from www.sambaix.com
or http://www.editcorp.com/Personal/Lars_Appel/index.html it
seems that 2.0.9 also builds successfully on MPE/iX (ie use
the 2.0.9 sources from Australia and apply the MPE specific
diffs via the mpe/patch.sh script automagically).
I have not spent time on extensive testing or packaging new
binaries. With the advent of the Invent3K porting system, it
could probably be done by someone else who volunteers ;-)
Lars.
